Vacheron Constantin ref.4906 de 1958
Vacheron Constantin ref.4906 de 1958
The reference 4906 from Vacheron Constantin had to do with functionality in the 1950s, offering an automatic movement and a waterproof construction with a screwed-down caseback. Its case measures 35.5 mm wide, which is exceptionally rare for this period of watchmaking, especially when speaking of Vacheron Constantin.
In a letter to its Authorized Dealers dated in the 1950s, the manufacturer had indicated that it had never launched more than 24 examples with the same design, which explains the countless variations of indexes and hands that can be found for the same reference.
There is a large number of dial/hands combinations on this model, following the production regulations of Vacheron Constantin at that time. The watch we have for sale is undoubtedly one of the best-preserved examples and with one of the most beautiful configurations that have appeared on the market in recent years.
