Rolex King Midas Strippe ref.4344 from 1976
Rolex King Midas Strippe ref.4344 from 1976
The King Midas watch was presented in 1962 as a limited edition and was designed by Gerald Genta in the shape of the Greek Pantheon, giving it an asymmetric design that simulates the design of the Pantheon and its columns. The crown was placed on the left side to represent Midas, who turned everything he touched with his left hand into gold according to Greek Mythology. The watch is made of almost 200 grams of solid gold and was priced one third more than a Day-Date when it was launched.
The reference 4344 is the original King Midas watch with a special twist of flavor added to it, which was manufactured from 1976 to 1978 and is rarer than the first, second, and third series, even when compared with the white gold series of these models. However, the market does not currently do justice to the rarity of the 4344 reference and its unique beauty. The manual production of each model makes it slightly different in terms of weight and finish, which is one of the most impressive aspects of the King Midas.
