Rolex Explorer ll Full-set Unpolished Stickers Ref.16570 from 1999

In 1989, the Explorer II saw its second reference update since the evolution from the 16550 to the 16570. This model received an upgrade to the caliber 3185 and later to the caliber 3186.

On the white dial, the hour markers were now outlined in a bold contrast of black instead of white as seen previously, creating a visually striking effect.

The luminescent material used in this reference also evolved over time: it first used tritium, followed by LumiNova, and finally Super-LumiNova.
