Piaget Hobnail "Squared" Tiger Eye ref. 9131D4 from 1980s

The Piaget Hobnail “Squared” ref. 9131D4 from the 1980s is a wonderful example of the brands ability to blur the line between watchmaking and jewelry. Measuring approximately 25mm square, the watch carries its proportions directly into the bracelet, which maintains the same 25mm width around the wrist. The result is less the appearance of a conventional wristwatch and more that of a solid gold cuff. Both the case and bracelet are finished with a distinctive hobnail texture, giving the entire watch a highly architectural character. An unusual double-locking clasp provides additional security while remaining convenient for a watch intended to be worn frequently.
