Piaget Dancer Onyx ref.80131K51 Quartz from 1980s

The Piaget Dancer ref. 80131K51 is a wonderfully playful interpretation of the integrated-bracelet Piaget "Polo" aesthetic, and a watch that perfectly captures the brand more creative side.

The defining feature is undoubtedly the dial. Individual pieces of black onyx are carefully cut and set within the gold structure, creating an open, woven pattern that almost resembles the links of  thick woven meterial. Rather than using stone as a conventional solid dial, Piaget turns it into part of the design of the watch itself. The contrast between polished gold, brushed surfaces and deep black onyx gives the piece a strong graphic quality while retaining the jewelry-like character for which Piaget is known.
