Omega Speedmaster Ed White ref.105.002 from 1963 Soleil Dial
Omega Speedmaster Ed White ref.105.002 from 1963 Soleil Dial
The ref. 105.002 had a fairly short production period between 1962 and 1964, right at the moment that Omega took on the 6 number reference number system. In fact, this reference is identical to the 2998-62 that came before it– the delineation seems to be simply the switch over in referencing systems. Both of these watches are characterized by a silver inner-rehaut and, of course, an alpha handset.
This particular watch has a extremely rare "Soleil" dial also called Light Gray Metallic Dial by Omega themselves, Interesting to see that Omega used this beautiful blue/grey colour on three different generations of Speedmaster models, but never made it to a larger scale production. These exotic dials are some of the rarest omega watches in existence.
