An extremely rare and interesting Girard Perregaux Deep Diver Gyromatic ref 8867V from the 1966. Exactly, 400 pieces of the 8867 V were made In 1966 and 1000 pieces of the 8867 W in 1967, totaling 1400 reference 8867 V/W watches. Another interesting detail is that the Jaeger-LeCoultre E 857 Deep Sea Alarm, Omega 2913 Seamaster, and Favre-Leuba 59603 Deep Blue, they all use the same case design either manufactured by HF – Huguenin Fréres or EPAS – E. Piquerez S.A.
This watch features a 38.5mm stainless steel case with a screw-down back and a wide rotating black acrylic bezel. The watch also has the original non-screw-down GP non-signed crown. The original matte dial is in beautiful condition, with painted tritium hour markers and slender original hands. The 6, 9, and 12 dial markers have a distinctive, stylized font. It is powered by a self-winding movement with a date function. The watch has been fully serviced and remains in its original, unpolished condition.
