Franck Muller Casablanca ref.7502S6 del 2001
Franck Muller is a brand that dates back to 1991, recognized for the unconventional shape of its cases, such as the tonneau design of the Cintrée Curvex, a watch curved along its length and width with a crystal that appears to be hand-molded to fit perfectly on the wrist. Franck Muller was born in 1958 in La Chaux-de-Fonds to an Italian mother and a Swiss father. At the age of 15, he left La Chaux-de-Fonds to enroll in the Ecole d'Horlogerie de Genève.
With his diploma in hand, he began working on the restoration of antique watches, including certain pieces for the Patek Philippe Museum. It wasn't long before he began looking for ways to bring a contemporary sensibility to traditional watchmaking, drawing inspiration from his earlier years at the big watch house.
This watch still possesses characteristics of classic watchmaking that Muller was trying to intercept in his early years, without extravagant proportions or extravagant designs. This piece shows a superb interpretation of contemporary design such as the exploded numbers, the case of only 8mm thickness, and its proportions of 28x39mm very similar to Cartier watches of the time. Inside the watch, we find a beautifully decorated Peseux Cal.7001 base movement with Côtes de Genève and Blued Screws.
