The Certina DS Diver “Tortuga” ref. 5601 is one of the most charismatic dive watches of the 20th century, capturing an era defined by exploration and purposeful design. Introduced during the 1960s, its DS or “Double Security” construction was developed to provide enhanced resistance to shocks and water.

Its 36 mm stainless-steel case, manufactured by Huguenin Frères, features distinctive twisted angular lugs and wears considerably larger than its dimensions suggest.

The highlight is its glossy gilt dial, Completed by its original stainless-steel Gay Frères bracelet, this is an exceptionally rare and remarkably cohesive example of the quintessential mid-century Rolex Datejust direct competition.
