The Tank Solo model emerged in the early 2000s as a more youthful alternative to the classic Tank Louis silhouette. A steel box, scaled proportions, and a quartz mechanism were some of the characteristics never before seen together in a tank.
Some special editions were consecutively released, among them the Tank Solo cheetah print and snake skin stand out for their extravagant design, which did not have much popularity. On the other hand, the Tank Solo Piano was the complete opposite thanks to its unique design that perfectly evokes Cartier's design philosophy, innovating once again with the traditional opaline dial with black Roman numerals now in a new format with great depth that reminds us of the keys of a grand piano or musical scores.
