Cartier Stepped Case Jumbo "Paris" ref.1543 from 1975
Cartier Stepped Case Jumbo "Paris" ref.1543 from 1975
The Cartier Ref: 1543 also known as the Paris iteration of this rare model, shared the iconic Small Crown, a snap/push back-case devoid of screws, and lacked a recessed crown guard with the London iteration. The engraved back case, adorned with French language engravings, concealed internal serial numbers and powered by the ETA 2512 Cartier caliber 78-1 movement, bearing the "Cartier" signature upheld the brand's philosophy at the time to produce entry level timepieces. These models were issued in gold-coated steel, and production of the Ref: 1543 was limited to merely a few hundred pieces. Discontinued in 1976, its rarest iteration features a captivating blue dial – an exquisite rarity among all versions. It's estimated that just a couple hundred of these remarkable timepieces were ever manufactured with blue dials.
