Audemars Piguet Ultra-Thin ref.5043 from 1950s
Audemars Piguet Ultra-Thin ref.5043 from 1950s
Measuring under 2 mm thick, the caliber 2003 was developed by Audemars Piguet and Jaeger-LeCoultre (with some help from Vacheron Constantin) in 1953. It was based on the caliber 9ML (developed in 1938), which measured only 1.64 mm thick and was in production until the early 2000s. This movement is quite the powerhouse despite its small size. Another important detail is its beautiful Gay Frères bracelet that complements the overall aesthetic of the champagne dial. This timepiece looks like something out of your grandfather's closet, in the best and coolest way possible.
