Audemars Piguet Lady Royal Oak "Mini" Tantalum ref.66270TR from 1998

The recently released Audemars Piguet Mini measures 23mm and has quickly become just as popular among male celebrities as it is with women, reflecting the growing appeal of smaller watches across the luxury market. At 24.5mm, the Royal Oak Lady ref. 66270TR is the closest vintage equivalent, even slightly smaller than the coveted ref. 6007, which was also produced in tantalum and rose gold.

Its color palette feels remarkably contemporary. Tantalum naturally exhibits a deep blue-grey tone, and because the metal is finished almost entirely with satin-brushed surfaces without polished accents, it gives the watch a subtle, technical character that is both understated and distinctive. The result is a Royal Oak with exceptional personality.

For me, the ref. 66270TR may well represent the ultimate vintage "Mini" Royal Oak configuration being rare, beautifully proportioned, and strikingly modern despite being nearly three decades old.
