The ref. 5403 stands out with its elegant, flexible integrated bracelet and a captivating satin-blue dial adorned with diamond hour markers. Powering the watch is the ultra-thin Caliber 2121 — a 36-jewel, 247-component masterpiece first introduced in 1970.

Its bracelet is a remarkable Polonaise mesh — “Polonaise” meaning Polish in French — distinguished by its subtle V-shaped weave that resembles a fine braid. While it shares a kinship with the more familiar Milanese mesh, the Polonaise offers a softer, more intricate rhythm to the metal. These bracelets were crafted for Audemars Piguet by Roland-Gilbert Gaschen, whose “GRG” hallmark can be found discreetly on the clasps. Though Gaschen’s name never achieved the fame of Gay Frères, the refinement and complexity of his creations speak volumes of his mastery in the art of fine bracelet making.
